Our Mandate

The Mandate of the Institute.​

The Institute has a broad and comprehensive mandate which covers important areas of governance. The key areas include the following:

To provide a world class competency-based and demand-driven training to public servants, employing cutting edge information and technology services in order to build their professional, technical, managerial, and leadership capabilities.

To serve as a centre of excellence and innovation to the Benue State Civil Service through the promotion of contemporary organizational competencies and long-life learning experiences.

To train both the State and Local Government staff to inculcate in them the core values of the public service which include ethics, integrity, accountability and Transparency.

To conduct high quality research and provide consultancy services and policy advocacy to Government and other organizations needing such services.

To serve as a think-tank to the Benue State Government especially with regard to civil service management and sustainable development.

To prepare and conduct promotion examinations for civil servants at both the State and Local Government levels.

To establish collaborative partnership with neighbouring universities and other institutions of higher learning in order to run desirable programmes.

To extend the services of the Institute to a wide range of clients such as Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) Labour Unions and the Private Sector.

Extend the Institute services to neighbouring states that may need them.

Carry out any other services that may be assigned to the Institute by the Government.
